Cherry Dressers
My children needed clothing storage. Badly.
My children needed clothing storage. Badly. We'd only ever had second-hand dressers (with caustic drawers that resisted being opened or closed with ease) or repurposed old bookshelves as open-air dressers for the kids before.
We decided this was the year to change that, so I designed dressers that would complement the beds and side tables I'd already made for them. I wrote about the process (which naturally took longer than anticipated) here and here.
I used Cherry because that is the same wood as their beds and dressers. And I love the figure in Cherry and thought I could find some boards that would look lovely as drawer fronts.
The design is based off one I saw in Fine Woodworking as well as a couple of dressers from a book on craftsman-style furniture.
